How Bidding Works

BidWell uses an automatic bidding system that lets you quickly and simply bid on items without needing to be present for the entire duration of the auction. When bidding on an item, simply enter the highest price that you're willing to pay, and BidWell will take care of the rest.

Setting up an automatic bid

To set up automatic bidding on an auction item, head to the item in question, enter the maximum amount that you are willing to pay, then click "Bid". If others bid more on the same item, we'll increase your bid incrementally up to your maximum limit.

If someone bids above your maximum limit, we'll let you know and you can decide if you would like to increase it.

If you see that you are outbid immediately after placing your bid, it's because someone else bid with a maximum limit higher than yours. In order to be the highest bidder, you'll have to increase your maximum limit.
